A PERSONAL PLATFORM FOR MULTIMEDIA CONTENTS REAL-TIME STREAMING WITH XML BASED REMOTE CONTROL

A personal platform for transferring multimedia contents in real-time with an XML(eXtensible Markup Language)-based remote control function is provided to enable a user to view, store, or play a TV program received to a home of the user in a remote place without generating additional expenses for additional view. The personal platform is a PVODS(Personal Video On-Demand Server) embedded in a home appliance like a PVR(Personal Video Recorder). The PVODS transfers a live program or broadcasting contents stored in an HDD(Hard Disk Drive)(3) in a streaming mode according to a request of the user placed in a remote place. The PVR includes a PVODS board(4) separately from a PVR main board comprising a tuner(1), a main chip(2), and the HDD. A digital encoder(5) of the PVODS compresses/converts an analog A/V(Audio/Video) signal received form the PVR main board into a standard format, and transfers the converted signal to the Internet through a PVODS main chip(6). The PVODS main board includes a streaming server program(7) and an XML interpreter(8).
