Provided is a method for manufacturing platinum-series nano particles using plasma, whereby the nano particles are simply and rapidly produced by maintaining electric discharge through the interface between a platinum-series metal-containing solution and hydrogen gas. The method for manufacturing platinum-series nano particles for an electrode catalyst of a fuel cell using plasma comprises the steps of: (a) putting a platinum-containing compound into a plasma reactor and thereto adding water, an acid, and a base to obtain a platinum-containing solution; (b) mixing hydrogen gas and inert gas supplied from a hydrogen gas container and an inert gas container to inject the mixed gas into the plasma reactor; and (c) supplying direct current, alternating current, or microwave power to a first electrode and a second electrode placed at the solution side and the gas side within the plasma reactor respectively, causing plasma discharge at the interface between the platinum-containing solution and the mixed gas to induce reduction of the platinum-containing compound, thereby producing platinum-series nano particles in the platinum-containing solution.
