A slide type mobile terminal having an opening/closing recognizing unit is provided to implement the role of an ON/OFF switch and to enhance tactile sensation because an opening/closing of a mobile terminal is recognized as a connector mounted on a sliding part contacts with clicker plates or is released therefrom. A slide type mobile terminal includes a sliding part(210) and a terminal body(220). A connector(211) is connected with a front board of the sliding part(210) and mounted on a rear surface of the sliding part(210). Clicker plates(221,222) contact with the connector(211) and are mounted at a certain interval as conductors connected with a main board of the terminal body(220) on the terminal body(220).
