A DMB receiving terminal having a network distinction function and a method for distinguishing a DMB network by using the same are provided to prevent receive sensitivity from being deteriorated as TII is not extracted through an OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) stage, and use the TII received in an encrypted state as a key value, thereby preventing hacking. In a method for distinguishing a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) network, a DMB receiving terminal distinguishes the network by analyzing a received parameter based on stored TII(Transmitter Identification Information). The TII is provided from the outside and stored in an internal memory of the terminal. The TII is received through a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) data network and stored in the internal memory of the terminal. The TII is provided to the terminal included in an SMS(Short Message Service) message.
