A WRKY transcription factor gene(CaWRKY-a) isolated from red pepper is provided to be expressed specifically when hypersensitive reaction occurs between Capsicum. annuum L. cv. Bugang and TMV-Po, and respond to various stresses including biological or non-biological inducing agents and wound, thereby functioning as a transcription factor at the defense-related signal path of a plant. The WRKY transcription factor(CaWRKY-a) is one selected from the group consisting of (a) a DNA encoding a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence described as SEQ ID : NO. 10; (b) a DNA described as SEQ ID : NO. 9; and (c) a DNA encoding a protein consisting of an amino acid sequence where at least one of an amino acid in the amino acid sequence described as the SEQ ID : NO. 10 is substituted, deleted, added or inserted. The DNA is derived from red pepper plant, and the stress is viral, bacterial pathogen or non-biological stress. The method for preparing a disease-resistance induced transgenic plant comprises the steps of: (a) preparing an expression vector containing the gene above; (b) introducing the expression vector into agrobacterium; (c) co-culturing the agrobacterium and plant cell to transform the plant cell; and (d) tissue-culturing the transformed plant cell to re-differentiate it.
