The present invention relates to a method of treating metal-based waste resources together as an auxiliary material when smelting manganese nodules, and more particularly, a Ni-Cd spent battery mainly containing iron and nickel and cobalt, etc., during the melt reduction of deep sea manganese nodules. By using petrochemical waste catalyst as an additive raw material, it is a method of treating metal waste and recovering valuable metals when smelting manganese nodules. It is a more economical and environmentally friendly method that solves two problems of waste disposal and valuable metal recovery. .;In the smelting method of the present invention to achieve this, nickel, cobalt, iron, and copper are alloyed, and manganese is slag by adding a certain amount of a petrochemical waste catalyst containing Ni-Cd spent batteries and cobalt during melt reduction of manganese nodules.
