摘要

An optical switching element and a device, a multi-wavelength photo switching element and a device, a color optical switching element and a device, an optical switching element array, a multi-wavelength photo switching element array, a color optical switching element array, an image display device, a multi-color image display device, and a color image display device are provided to increase the density of pixels by making one pixel of the color as a single optical switching element, viewed from the light transmissive direction. An optical switching element(1) is composed of a resonating and reflecting element(11) for resonating and reflecting specific wavelength components of the light incident from the opposite surface and driving units(12,14) for changing a resonant wavelength generated by resonance and reflection, by changing the shape and/or refractive index of the resonating and reflecting element. A thickness part of the resonating and reflecting element functions as a waveguide layer. One surface of a thickness direction of the resonating and reflecting element functions as a total reflection surface and the other surface forms a fine periodical structure due to fine unevenness.
