APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING EFFECTIVE FASTWEB SERVICE

A device and a method for providing an effective FastWeb service are provided to efficiently perform the FastWeb service between the wired network and the wireless network by effectively compressing data exchanged in a narrow-band mobile environment. A wired communicator(310) receives text-based general web service data from the wired network. A protocol converter(320) compresses and encodes the general web service data into a FastWeb having a binary type. A wireless communicator(330) transmits the compressed/encoded data to the wireless network. The wired communicator includes a wired interface(311) physically connecting to the wired network and a general HTTP(HyperText Transfer Protocol) processor(314) processing the general web service data. The wireless communicator includes a wireless interface(331) physically connecting to the wireless network and a FastWeb processor(335) processing the data compressed/encoded in the FastWeb mode.
