A back scattering wave measurement method, an RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) transponder, and an inferior goods checking device of a reader using the same are provided to save the installation cost, to install a measuring instrument in a narrow space, and to measure the back scattering characteristic regardless of external electromagnetic-wave environment. In a back scattering wave measurement method, a scattering body(S) is installed in a coupler. An electrical signal is supplied to an input terminal(T1) of the coupler. An output terminal(T3) and an isolating terminal(T4) of the coupler are terminated so that a scattered electrical signal generated by bumping the supplied electrical signal against the scattering body is transmitted to a coupling terminal(T2) of the coupler. Then, the intensity of the electrical signal transmitted to the coupling terminal is measured.
