A method for electing an Ethernet bandwidth manager and a managing method using the same are provided to offer bandwidth managing, and load-controlling services defined in an IETF by using a signaling mechanism between a host elected as a bandwidth manager and other hosts. A method for electing an Ethernet bandwidth manager includes the steps of: transceiving a first message including priority between hosts located in a sub net; and by each host in the sub net, multi-casting to other hosts a second message about setting itself as an Ethernet bandwidth manager in case that its priority is higher than the priority of the message received from other hosts for a predetermined time.
