SECURITY CONTEXT TRANSMISSION METHOD FOR HANDOVER IN THE HIGH SPEED PORTABLE INTERNET SYSTEM

A security context transfer method for handover of a mobile Internet system is provided to enable fast handover by reducing delay required for transferring information necessary for security-related re-establishment. It is checked whether a handover confirmation message transmitted from an AT(Access Terminal) includes security context(S208-1). When the handover confirmation message includes security context, it is checked whether the security context includes security-associated information(S208-2). When the security context includes security-associated information, it is checked whether the security context includes a traffic-related key or a PMK(Pairwise Master Key)(S208-3,S208-4). An information indication message including security-related information which indicates existence of any one among the security context, the security-associated information, the traffic-related key and the PMK is transmitted to the second AP(Access Point) through a PAR(Packet Access Router)(S208-5).
