A power saving method of a device interworking with a home network and a power saving controller are provided to control power saving of a device by determining a case that a power saving mode should be performed. A power saving management unit checks whether power saving is necessary(S200). When power saving is necessary, the power saving management unit checks whether it corresponds to a pre-set power saving determining reference(S210). When the power saving corresponds to the pre-set power saving determining reference, the power saving management unit searches a device that will perform power saving and checks state of the searched device(S220). The power saving management unit checks whether to perform the power saving function(S230). When the power saving function will be performed, the power saving management unit executes power saving function of the corresponding device(S240). The power saving management unit stores the performed power saving function in a storage unit and informs a user accordingly(S250).
