A portable terminal and system for supporting a high-end application service and a method therefor are provided to receive an operation screen of an application operated in a server as an image in real time, and to display the image, thereby supporting a high-end application even in a low-end portable terminal. A server(110) operates an application requested by a portable terminal(120). The portable terminal(120) receives an image which contains information on an operation screen of the application from the server(110) through a very high speed network. The server(110) controls operation of the application by receiving control information for controlling the operation of the application sent from the terminal(120), and images a changed screen to send the imaged screen to the terminal(120).
