A polyester fiber with the excellent adhesion to polyvinyl chloride and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the transformation of a shape due to the contraction of an orignal fiber when performing the heat treatment. The spinning emulsion is imparted into the polyester non-draft yarn obtained by the melting and spinning of the polyester chip with the inherent viscosity of 0.76 to 0.86. Thereafter, the non-draft yarn is drafted, relaxed and heat-fixed by shielding pair of godet rollers(11,12,13,14,15,16). Thereafter, the functional emulsion with 0.4 to 1.0 wt% relating to the weight of the polyester fiber is imparted to the polyester draft yarn. Thereafter, the polyester draft yarn is wound by a winder(18). The elongation ratio is 5.0 to 6.0 and the relaxation ratio is 8 to 15%. The temperature of the fourth godet roller of the six pair of godet rollers is maintained by the temperature of 230 to 240 degrees centigrade.
