Provided is a composition comprising an extract of Fomitopsis pinicola fruiting body or Fomitopsis pinicola cultural mycelium having the reactive oxygen generation inhibitory effect caused by diabetes so as to be widely used for developing functional foods of preventing damage of tissue caused by the reactive oxygen. The composition comprises an extract of Fomitopsis pinicola fruiting body or an extract of Fomitopsis pinicola cultural mycelium and shows the inhibition effect of reactive oxygen species generation by inhibiting the activity of a reactive oxygen generating enzyme such as xanthine oxidase in a patient suffering from diabetes and increasing the activity of a reactive oxygen scavenging enzyme such as glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase.
