HANDOVER METHOD FROM ASYNCHRONOUS NETWORK TO SYNCHRONOUS NETWORK IN MIXED MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM OF ASYNCHRONOUS NETWORK TO SYNCHRONOUS NETWORK

A handover method to a synchronous network from an asynchronous network in a mobile communication system where the asynchronous and synchronous networks are mixed together is provided to be capable of normally conducting handover to the synchronous network though a terminal suddenly moves to an asynchronous shadow area, thus QoS(Quality of Service) is improved. An RNC(Radio Network Controller) of an asynchronous network periodically collects neighboring base station information(S101). The RNC transmits a handover condition which includes a handover decision reference parameter and the neighboring base station information to an asynchronous modem of a terminal(S103). If the terminal decides that handover is essential, the asynchronous modem drives a synchronous modem, and allocates resources(S105-S109). If the RNC decides that handover for the terminal is necessary, the RNC carries out a handover process(S111).
