STORAGE MEDIUM FOR MANAGING MASTER BOOT RECORD AND METHOD FOR BOOTING OF COMPUTER SYSTEM USING THE STORAGE MEDIUM

A storage medium for managing an MBR and a method for booting a computer system with the storage medium are provided to perform a booting process in anytime by storing data of the changed MBR to a storage space of an HDD(Hard Disk Drive) and recovering the stored MBR data. An MBR sector(240) stores the MBR related to current booting, and each data storing sector(250,260) stores the previous MBR. Firmware(230) performs communication with a host device(210), and manages the MBR sector and the data storing sector. If an error occurs in the MBR stored in the MBR sector, the firmware selects the recent MBR and the MBR selected by a user from the data storing sector, and stores the selected MBR to the MBR sector.
