A pointing device using a virtual region, a pointer display device, a pointing method, and a pointer display method are provided to allow a user to easily locate a pointer on a display region irrespective of distance between a display device and a pointing device. A region sensing unit(310) senses a display region on which a pointer is displayed by using at least one or more received signals. A virtual region generating unit(320) generates a virtual region, corresponding to the display region, having the same aspect ratio as the display region. A coordinate converting unit(340) converts a coordinate of a spot pointed in the virtual region at a rate for a sized of the virtual region. A coordinate rate transmitting unit(350) transmits the rate.
