METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING WIRELESS DATA ROAMING SERVICE BY USING INTERNATIONAL ROAMING MOBILE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER

A method and a system for providing a wireless data roaming service by using IRM(International Roaming Mobile identification number) authentication are provided to prevent the user of an illegal mobile terminal from illegally and freely using a domestic wireless data service through an overseas mobile network, by receiving a CS_ID(Calling Station Identification) and an NAI(Network Access Identification) from the overseas mobile network and doubly executing authentication for the user based on the received CS_ID and NAI. If a mobile terminal requests an overseas mobile network to provide a wireless data roaming service(S210), the overseas mobile network transmits an NAI and a CS_ID to a domestic mobile network and notifies the domestic mobile network that the wireless data roaming service has been requested(S220). The domestic mobile network confirms the received NAI and executes the first authentication procedure by judging that the NAI contains the information that appoints the domestic mobile network(S230). If the first authentication procedure is completed, the domestic mobile network confirms the CS_ID and carries out the second authentication procedure by judging that the information contained in the CS_ID is an IRM(S240). In case the information contained in the CS_ID is an MIN, not the IRM, the domestic mobile network judges the mobile terminal an illegal mobile terminal and intercepts the use of the wireless data roaming service(S232,S234).
