PREVENTING THE ONE'S PERSONAL EFFECTS LOSS IN AN ATM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

An ATM(Automated Teller Machine) with a loss preventing function of personal effects and a method for preventing the loss of personal effects are provided to let a user take the personal effects after completing transactions by making announcement by installing contact sensors at the upper and middle shelves of the ATM. An ATM having a key input unit(110), a check/cash receiving and drawing unit(120), a display unit(130), and a printing unit(140) is composed of contact sensors(310) installed at upper and middle shelves of the ATM to detect user's personal effects; a voice message storing unit(320) storing a guidance message for preventing the loss of personal effects; a voice output unit(330) for outputting the guidance message for preventing the loss of the personal effects; and a control unit(150) controlling each unit, recognizing a detection signal of the contact sensor, and generating a voice control signal for playing the guidance message.
