PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily usable portable telephone set for confirming the principal identity of electronic mail, and for enabling only the principal to read electronic mail transmitted to the destination of the principal.;SOLUTION: This portable telephone set is provided with a means for storing received encrypted mail; a means for storing a plurality of conversion tables; a means for accepting the input of key information; a means for determining one conversion table based on the input key information; a means for decoding the encrypted mail by referring to the determined conversion table; a decoded mail temporary storage means for temporarily storing the generated decoded mail; a display control means for controlling a display means to display the decoded mail stored in the decoded mail temporary storage means; and a means for erasing the decoded mail stored in the decoded mail temporary storage means according to an instruction input showing the end of the display of the decoded mail.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
