A method for activating a service function of an automatic teller machine by time and an automatic teller machine for executing the same are provided to control fluidly an activation process of the service function according to a characteristic of each of automatic teller machines. An activating time setting unit(201) sets an activation time with respect to a plurality of service functions from a user. A time information database(202) stores and maintains activation time information with respect to each service function. A time counter unit(203) counts a present time. A service function control unit(204) activates the service functions corresponding to the counted time by referring to the activation time information. The activating time setting unit sets the activation time by using a keypad or a touch pad.
