A method and an apparatus for preventing loss of shoes by using a wireless personal area network and shoes having loss prevention functions are provided to implement effectively the function for preventing loss of belongings by providing status information of the belongings in real time through the wireless personal area network. A loss prevention method comprises the following steps of: receiving a radio signal outputted from belongings having a wireless personal area network interface; detecting a channel connection status information with the belongings by analyzing the radio signal(S105); calculating a relative distance from the belongings based on the detected channel connection status information(S107); and outputting a loss alarm notification signal by stages according to the relative distance(S111,S117).
