A method for driving an AC(Alternating Current) PDP(Plasma Display Panel) with 4 electrodes and a plasma display panel using the same are provided to enhance energy efficiency by using a low reset voltage. An auxiliary electrode is inserted between scan and sustain electrodes which are disposed in parallel at a front plate. A rear plate opposite to the front plate includes address electrodes. A PDP is driven based on a reset period which has erase, rising, and falling intervals(1,2,3), an address period, and a sustain period. An erase pulse(Verase) increased from a first voltage to a second voltage supplies to the auxiliary electrode during the erase interval. A final voltage of the falling interval in scan electrodes and basic voltages in the sustain and auxiliary electrodes are decreased to be lower than a ground voltage.
