METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR HANDLING REDIRECTION BETWEEN CONTENT PROVIDE SERVER AND WAP GATEWAY

A method and a system for processing redirection between a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) gateway and a content provider are provided to perform the redirection if a page connection URL(Uniform Resource Locator) is consistent with a changed URL in the WAP gateway, so that reconnection failure between the WAP gateway and the first content provider requesting reconnection to the changed URL can be prevented. A page connection request message including a page connection URL(Uniform Resource Locator) is transmitted to a first content providing server(S210). If the first content providing server receives a redirection message because the reason for change of web page is generated, it is determined whether the page connection URL is consistent with a definitely or randomly changed URL(S215,S220). If so, reconnection to the first changed URL is requested to the first content provider(S225). If not so, it is determined that a mobile communication terminal is connected in order to download a main page as an initial menu page of a wireless Internet service(S235). If so, reconnection to the second changed URL is requested to a second content provider including a specific main page as a main page corresponding to the second changed URL(S240).
