Magnesia carbon(MgO-C) based brick composition for furnace body such as converter or ladle is provided to produce a brick for fabricating the furnace body with excellent oxidation resistance in case of processing steel or un-oxidized steel with high oxygen content by comprising magnesia clinker, carbon, liquid and solid phenol resin and externally adding metal Fe to the composition. The composition includes: primary magnesia-carbon fraction containing magnesia clinker, carbon, liquid and solid phenol resin; and external additive in amount of 0.1 to 10wt.% based to 100wt.% of the primary fraction. The external additive is metal Fe powder. If the metal Fe powder is used in combination with any of typical metal powder, carbide, boride, inorganic salts, etc., the magnesia-carbon fraction shows improved oxidation resistance. Preferably, the metal Fe powder is in Fe compound form and has purity more than 95%.
