Method of preparation of potassium 2-methoxy-5-mononitrophenolate as plant physiological activating substance

A composition for promoting growth of plants is provided to promote corpulence and cell division of plant cells by stimulating plant cells. The composition for promoting growth of plants comprises potassium 2-methoxy-5-mononitrophenolate, wherein the composition further comprises 1 wt.% or less of potassium ortho-nitrophenolate and/or potassium para-nitrophenolate, and water; the potassium 2-methoxy-5-mononitrophenolate is prepared by acetylating 2-methoxyphenol with anhydrous acetate to prepare 2-methoxyphenol acetate, nitrating 2-methoxyphenol acetate to prepare 2-methoxy-5-mononitrophenolacetate, saponificating 2-methoxy-5-mononitrophenolacetate with potassium hydroxide, and neutralizing the resulting product with hydrochloric acid; and the composition is sprayed to plants in dilution of 1,000 to 24,000 times.
