A MOBILE TERMINAL WITH A FACULTY OF ANNOUNCING POSITION AND METHOD FOR OPERATING THE SAME

A mobile terminal having a position notifying function and an operating method thereof are provided to enhance user's convenience by setting information for a position notifying service, offering a position of a user to the other side, and automatically terminating the service when the user arrives at a destination. An operating method of a mobile terminal having a position notifying function comprises the following several steps. Information about a destination and a notification target person are registered in the mobile terminal and a position notifying service is driven(S300). According as a user moves toward the destination, local information is received from a corresponding base station according to a preset cycle and is notified to the user(S302,S304). The received local information is compared with the registered information about the destination at every preset time intervals(S306). In case the received local information is the same as the registered information about the destination, the position notifying service is terminated(S312). Otherwise, the steps S302, S304, and S306 are repeated.
