Cosmetic Compositions Comprising Extract from Codonopsis pilosula Franch. Nannf. for Preventing Skin Aging

A cosmetic composition for preventing skin aging comprising the extract of Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf. is provided to promote proliferation of fibroblasts and synthesis of collagen, improve skin-moisturizing effects, and reduce skin irritation. The cosmetic composition for preventing skin aging comprises the extract of Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf. as an effective ingredient, wherein the Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf. extract is prepared with solvent selected from water, C1-4 anhydrous or hydrous lower alcohol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform and 1,3-butylene glycol; the composition has a formulation selected from solution, suspension, emulsion, paste, gel, cream, lotion, powder, soap, surfactant-containing cleansing, oil, powder foundation, emulsion foundation, wax foundation and spray; and the amount of Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf. extract is 0.0001-10.0 wt.% based on the total weight of the composition.
