Method of large file distribution in P2P networks

A method for distributing a large-size file in the P2P(Peer-to-Peer) network is provided to fairly distribute file distribution load to all users by offering an algorithm for selecting the user/slice fit for a situation when the user transfers the large-size file in a P2P system. A size of the slice is determined by selecting the slice possessed by the fewest current users. The user wanting to transfer the file sends a query message to other users in the P2P system. Other users respectively check presence of the corresponding file and return a response message to the user after receiving the query message. The user sends a request message after receiving the response message. If the request message is received, other users having the corresponding file prepare to distribute the file based on a transfer scheduling algorithm. The transfer scheduling algorithm assigns different priority by discriminating a source user having entire file and a download user having only the part of the file.
