A mobile station-based GPS terminal for obtaining positioning accuracy by controlling a QoS(Quality of Service) level according to a movement speed and its method are provided to recover a positioning calculation speed when a terminal moves at a normal speed without an additional operation of a user. The current QoS level is set as a certain value(S100). Terminal information is transferred to a mobile communication network(S110). Auxiliary data is received from the mobile communication network(S120). GPS radiowaves are received from a GPS artificial satellite by using the auxiliary data, and a location of the terminal is calculated according to the current QoS level(S130,S140). A movement speed of the terminal is calculated according to a change in the location of the terminal(S150). When the movement speed is lower than a certain range, the current QoS level is controlled so as to be higher, and when the movement speed is higher, the current QoS level is controlled so as to be lower(S160-S180).
