An apparatus and a method for automatically converting male and female keys through voice recognition in a song player are provided to analyze a voice signal of a user who sings a song along an accompaniment sound reproduced through a speaker, judge the gender of the user, and automatically convert a key of the accompaniment sound into a male key or a female key according to the judged gender. A cable/wireless microphone(100) transmits a voice signal of a user who sings a song along an accompaniment sound reproduced through a speaker by cable and wireless. A voice recognition and key conversion device(200) compares the user voice signal inputted from the cable/wireless microphone(100) by cable and wireless with a reference voice signal, and analyzes the gender of the corresponding user.
