A current controller for a grid connected inverter is provided to control a grid connected current more accurately by compensating an error due to a delay time as much as a DSP(Digital Signal Process) time. In a current controller for a grid connected inverter, a signal transformer(210) transforms each analog signal of a grid connected voltage and a grid connected current into digital signals. A PLL(Phase Locked Loop)(220) receives the digital signal of the transformed grid connected voltage, and generates phase angle information of the grid connected voltage. A phase compensation unit(230) receives the digital signal of the transformed grid connected voltage and the generated phase angle information, and generates the digital signal of the grid connected voltage of which a phase is compensated as much as a predetermined delay time. A controller(240) receives the digital signal of the grid connected voltage, the digital signal of the compensated grid connected voltage, and a reference output current of the inverter, and controls a switching operation of the inverter.
