PRIMER FOR IDENTIFICATION OF SEX IN ASPARAGUS AND METHOD OF IDENTIFICATION OF SEX IN ASPARAGUS

A method for identifying the sex of Asparagus officinalis L. is provided to be able to reliably discriminate the sex of the Asparagus officinalis L. at the seedling stage, thereby being usefully used for increasing the number of the Asparagus officinalis L. stably and developing new breeding. The primer for identifying sex of Asparagus officinalis L. comprises an oligonucleotide consisting of SEQ ID : NO.1 and an oligonucleotide consisting of SEQ ID : NO.2. The method for identifying the sex of Asparagus officinalis L. comprises the steps of: (a) amplifying DNA extracted from the Asparagus officinalis L. through PCR using the primer; and (b) electrophoresing the amplified product to identify an Asparagus officinalis L. specific band having a size of 395bp consisting of SEQ ID : NO.3.
