An apparatus and a method for setting broadcasting media information, and a method for judging the information are provided to enable a user to identify an original broadcasting medium which broadcasts a program and information of an original channel which broadcasts the program when the user watches a retransmitted program through a broadcasting signal receiver. A plurality of retransmitted program supply units provides service information and retransmitted programs supposed to be broadcasted via the first broadcasting media. A plurality of broadcasting media information setting units sets information of the second broadcasting media which broadcast the retransmitted programs to the service information provided from the retransmitted program supply units. A synthesis unit synthesizes the retransmitted programs and the service information to which the information of the second broadcasting media is set.
