A novel microorganism strain having gunpowder decomposing activity is provided to be able to economically treat the largely contaminated area by replacing the expensive incineration method, thereby reducing the economical burden and decomposing heavy metals as well as the gunpowder. The mixture strain NIXE I of an aerobic Pseudomonas, an aerobic Azorhizobium and an aerobic Proteus having gunpowder decomposition capability is deposited as a deposition number of KACC 91218P. The mixture strain NIXE II of an anaerobic Acinetobactor, Pseudomonas, an anaerobic Pseudomonas and an anaerobic Bacteroid having gunpowder decomposition capability is deposited as a deposition number of KACC 91219P. To decompose the gunpowder in gunpowder-contaminated soil, at least one of the NIXE I and NIXE II is sprayed into the soil.
