A DC-AC converter having phase-modulated and double-ended bridge topology for powering a high voltage load such as a cold cathode fluorescent lamp is provided to change an amplitude of a composite voltage difference generated across both ends of a load by half-bridge and full-bridge topologies by removing phase difference between a first sinusoidal wave and a second sinusoidal wave. A DC-AC converter having phase-modulated and double-ended bridge topology for powering a high voltage load such as a cold cathode fluorescent lamp includes a first phase adjustment DC-AC converter stage(10) and a second phase adjustment DC-AC converter stage(20). The first phase adjustment DC-AC converter stage(10) and the second phase adjustment DC-AC converter stage(20) have a shape of a bridge topology operated so as to drive both ends of the load by using a first sinusoidal wave voltage and a second sinusoidal wave voltage having an effective adjustment-phase difference for changing an amplitude of a composite AC voltage difference generated at both ends of the load.
