HARD DISK DRIVE, METHOD FOR CALIBRATING HEAD SKEW/HEAD GAP, AND RECORDING MEDIA FOR COMPUTER PROGRAM THEREFOR

An HDD(Hard Disc Drive), a method for calibrating a head skew and a head gap of the HDD, and a recording medium which records a computer program executing the method are provided to remove interference by another pattern, freely select a position of a test pattern, expand a search range for the head gap, and shorten time required for calibration by performing all the calibration of the head skew and the head gap by using an RCC(Repeatable runout Correction Code) test pattern. A test pattern is recorded in a certain track on a disc through a write head among MR(MagnetoResistance) heads(S10). A read head among the MR heads is moved in a radius direction to search the test pattern, and a head skew is measured(S20,S30). The test pattern is searched on the basis of the head skew, and a head gap is measured(S40). The head skew and the head gap are calibrated(S50).
