A time synchronization method for minimizing power consumption in heterogeneous sensor nodes and a network applied with the method are provided to minimize power consumption of the sensor nodes by easily performing time synchronization of an overall sensor network, and to operate all sensor nodes with a battery except a sink node, thus efficient resource management is available. Homogeneous sensor nodes connected below a sink node(50) are set to masters(60), and plural heterogeneous sensor nodes connected below the masters are set to time synchronization slaves(70). Time synchronization is conducted by using time synchronization algorithm among the time synchronization masters. The time synchronization slaves receive time synchronization commands by the masters, and power on/off by receiving active time and slave time control included in the time synchronization commands.
