MOBILE COMMUNICATION TERMINAL HAVING A FUNCTION OF REGISTRATION VALIDATION DATA AND VALIDATION DATA REGISTRATION METHOD THEREOF

A mobile communication terminal having a function of registering authentication data and a method thereof are provided to reasonably authenticate an authentication card installed at the mobile communication terminal though a type of information stored at the authentication card is not the same as a display type of information stored at the terminal. A method of a mobile communication terminal having a function of registering authentication data comprises the following several steps. When power is supplied, the mobile communication terminal checks whether authentication data for authenticating an authentication card of a user is registered(S12). If not, the terminal checks whether the authentication stored at the authentication card is stored at an authentication data management database(S14-S18). If so, the terminal requests the authentication data to a mobile communication network(S20). The terminal checks whether the authentication data extracted from the authentication card is the same as the authentication data received from the mobile communication network(S22). If so, the terminal registers the authentication data extracted from the authentication card as the authentication data for authenticating the authentication card(S24).
