AN EXCLUSIVE BUS LANE CONTROL- SYSTEM USING A SYSTEM FOR RECOGNIZING NUMBER OF VEHICLES

A bus lane monitoring system is provided to monitor vehicles in an exclusive bus lane in real-time by implementing a device for identifying a license plate number on buses. A bus lane monitoring system includes camera modules(10,20), a controller(30), and a memory(40). The camera modules, which are installed on buses traveling on an exclusive bus lane, photograph fore and back parts of the buses. The controller controls the camera modules, receives images from the camera modules, detects whether a violation vehicle is in the exclusive bus lane, and recognizes the license plate number of the violation vehicle. The memory stores the license plate number and the photographed images. The camera modules include first and second cameras(21,22) for photographing background image and the license plate number, and an illuminating unit(23) including plural LEDs(Light Emitting Diode).
