Composition comprising extract of Citrullus vulgaris bark and octacosanol

Provided is a composition for health food which improves stamina, enhances the function of liver by reducing the content of cholesterol and triglyceride in the body and lowers the level of blood sugar. The health food composition contains a mixture comprising an extract of the skin of a watermelon(Citrullus vulgaris); and octacosanol. Preferably the ratio of the skin of a watermelon and octacosanol is 4:6 by weight, and the content of octacosanol is about 1%. The extract of the skin of a watermelon is obtained by washing the skin of a watermelon with water; drying it in the shade; and extracting the dried one with a solvent for a certain time. The solvent is at least one selected from C1-C4 alcohols. Preferably the skin of a watermelon is extracted by using 80% ethanol.
