METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING VIDEO CONSIDERING VERTICAL HANDOFF IN HETEROGENEOUS NETWORKS

A video transmission method in consideration of handoff in heterogeneous network environments and a device therefor are provided to enable a server and a client to prepare handoff before the handoff starts, and to restore skipped frames by using error concealment, thereby offering a seamless video service to the client even when the handoff starts. A server receives handoff information from a client(400). The server operates a handoff termination time by using the handoff information, and determines video frames to be transmitted to the client, by considering frames which are not capable of being transmitted to the client according to buffer capacities of the client and speed of a network to which the client belongs during the handoff termination time from a handoff start time(410). Before the handoff start time calculated from the handoff information, the server transmits the determined video frames to the client(420).
