A home network construction system using BPLC(Broadband Power Line Communication) and ZigBee is provided to transmit an MPEG4 image and a bi-directional voice signal by using an existing power line without using a data line. A microprocessor(11) controls general operations of a device. An RTC battery(13) is connected with a system bus(12) of the microprocessor(11) and supports general operations of the microprocessor(12). A boot and application flash memory(14) temporarily stores a boot and application program. A serial 12C EEPROM(15) converts a parallel signal into a serial signal and outputs it to a 12C bus. A main SDRAM(16) temporarily stores various data and programs read by an input unit. A serial transceiver(19) is connected with a serial communication interface to allow the microprocessor(11) to perform serial communication with the outside. An Ethernet transceiver(120) is connected with an MII(Media Independence Interface) interface to perform Ethernet communication by using a private information network transmission path. An asynchronous serial element(17) is connected with the system bus(12) of the microprocessor(11) and performs asynchronous serial communication. An optical interface(18) supports optical communication.
