A fault-tolerant type induction heating power supply and a controlling method thereof are provided to solve problems caused by a difference between characteristics of switching devices by connecting a plurality of power supply modules to the induction heating heat-treating apparatus. A fault-tolerant type induction heating power supply includes a power supply source(210), a plurality of power supply modules(220,230,240,250), a common circuit(260), and a controlling apparatus. The power supply source(210) supplies AC power. The plurality of power supply modules(220,230,240,250) are connected with the power supply source(210), receive the AC power, and convert and transmit the AC power to the high frequency AC power. The common circuit(260) is connected with the plurality of power supply modules(220,230,240,250), and transmits the high frequency AC power to an induction heating coil(290). The controlling apparatus is connected with the plurality of power supply modules(220,230,240,250) and the common circuit(260), separates the certain power supply module(220,230,240,250) from the power supplying source(210) and the common circuit(260) when the certain power supplying module(220,230,240,250) has any error, and increases the output of the other power supplying modules(220,230,240,250) to the output of the certain power supplying module(220,230,240,250).
