摘要
A selection of lactic acid bacteria having the capacity to reduce IgE production by activating Th1 cells and inhibiting the activity of Th2 cells in lactic acid bacteria isolated from Korean infant feces is provided. Lactobacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201 as lactic acid bacteria having an immunoregulatory function is used as heath functional food for preventing and alleviating atopic dermatitis. The food having an immunoregulatory function contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201(KCTC-10833BP) increasing IL-12 and inhibiting IL-4 and IgE production and is selected from the group consisting of fermented milk, yogurt, drink, milk drink, food additive or healthy functional food. For an example, various lactic acid bacteria are isolated from Korean infant feces; strains having excellent adhesion capacity are inoculated into MRS medium and cultured at 37deg.C for 24hr, followed by selecting 30 high-activity strains. A BALB/c mice spleen cells suspension and lactic acid bacteria are cultured on a 96 well plate, IL-4 and IL-12 are measured. To maintain the balance of Th1 and Th2 cell activities, lactic acid bacteria having an increasing rate of IL-12 without IL-4 are preferably selected. To evaluate in vivo anti-allergic ability of Lactobacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201, Lactobacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201 is administered orally to BALB/c mice, serum IgE concentration and IL-4 and IL-12 secretion in spleen cells are measured. The assay results indicate that the Lactobacillus rhamnosus IDCC 3201 is effective in alleviating and preventing allergic reactions by maintaining the balance of Th1 cells and Th2 cells.
