Method for scale-up cultivation of photosynthetic microorganisms using lumostat parameters

A method for scale-up cultivating photosynthetic microorganisms using lumostat parameters is provided to maintain the production amount achieved from a laboratory level scale even in mass-cultivation by finding an optimum variable among various control variables. The method comprises the steps of: (a) culturing a photosynthetic microorganism such as Haematococcus pluvialis with varying control variable of the absorption intensity of radiation received by a cell such as the cell number, cell area and the absorption intensity of radiation per cell weight; (b) determining an optimum control variable and the optimum intensity of radiation in accordance therewith; and (c) culturing a microorganism in a culture medium with supplying light energy in accordance with the optimum condition determined by the step(b) thereto.
