PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for cooling slag and collecting granulated slag particulate in slag granulation equipment of blast furnace is provided to prevent environmental pollution and deterioration and life shortening of the equipment by collecting the granulated slag particulate and controlling cooling fan and air inflow depending on temperature. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for cooling slag and collecting granulated slag particulate in slag granulation equipment of blast furnace comprises a cooling control part comprising a plural cooling fans(17) installed at the lower side wall of a cooling tower, a driving motor(16-1) for driving the cooling fans(17), and a control inverter for controlling speed of the motor(16-1); a connection pipe which connects an inlet of the cooling fans(17) to a duct(27-1) at the upper side of the cooling tower to separate granulated slag particulate contained in cooling water of the duct(27-1) at the upper side of the cooling tower, and which comprises a hopper that is formed downward at the outer side of the inlet of the cooling fans(17); a temperature detecting sensor(23-1) which is installed at the connection pipe adjacent to the inlet of the cooling fans(17); a discharge control part comprising level switches(25-1,25-2) formed at an outlet of a hopper(27-4) of the connection pipe and an electronic valve installed at an outlet under the level switches(25-1,25-2) to control discharge of the granulated slag particulate collected; and a control part for controlling a cooling control part according to the results of the comparison by comparing detected temperature values of the temperature detecting sensor(23-1) to a set temperature and controlling the discharge control part according to detected levels of the level switches(25-1,25-2).
