A method and a device for providing traffic information according to accident information on a traveling course and a computer-readable medium recorded with the method are provided to improve accuracy of provided traffic information by supplying the accident information to an on-vehicle terminal in real-time. A device for providing traffic information includes a transceiver(31), a traveling path calculator(37), a traveling path memory(33), a traveling path extractor(34), and a message transmitter(35). The transceiver receives traffic information including accident information from a traffic information center or transmits position data to the traffic information center. The traveling path calculator calculates a traveling path based on source and destination information and the traffic information. The traveling path memory stores the traveling path and terminal information. The traveling path extractor recognizes the terminal, which transmits the traveling path related to the accident information, when the accident information is received from the traffic information center. The message transmitter transmits the traffic information corresponding to the accident information to the recognized terminal.
