A method for preparing a vinyl-based polymer particle is provided to prepare a vinyl-based polymer particle having an average diameter of 1-50 micrometers by single process and to allow the specific surface area of crosslinked particles to be controlled easily. A method for preparing a vinyl-based polymer particle comprises the step of polymerizing a crosslinking agent or a mixture of a crosslinking agent and an unsaturated vinyl-based monomer, a polymerization initiator and a reactive stabilizer in a solvent, wherein the crosslinking agent is at least one selected from divinyl benzene and acrylate compound, the reactive stabilizer is an amphiphilic block copolymer comprising a water-soluble polymer block and an oil-soluble polymer block and is prepared by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization, and the polymerization is carried out with stirring with 10-300 rpm at 50-100 deg.C for 1-12 hours.
